TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State golf coach Scott Varner announced Tuesday the addition of Sam Maceli, who will transfer to Tahlequah this fall as a sophomore. 

A native of Pittsburg, Kan., Maceli was a two-time all-state performer at Pittsburg High School before playing her freshman season at William Penn (Iowa). 

Maceli was named the Heart of America Conference Newcomer of the Year with three medalist titles and three Player of the Week nods.   She averaged a 77.5 per round score and helped lead William Penn to the NAIA National Championship this past spring.   Maceli did not have a finish lower than 11th in the regular season and was an All-Conference selection.
