TAHLEQUAH – The RiverHawks' homestand continues Thursday, where they will host Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. in continued non-conference action at DeLoache Field.
Northeastern State last week earned a road win at Ouachita Baptist and had a draw with Southwestern Oklahoma, the top-two teams out of the Great American Conference. Payton Lieb, Hannah Stettler, and Sydney Taylor have one goal for NSU this season. Ainsley Cunningham had a shutout win at goal at OBU with two saves, and Rebecca Partyka stopped four shots in her first career start, including a penalty kick block.

History with the Bearcats
Northeastern State has not lost in seven consecutive matches against Southwest Baptist. Last season's meeting in Bolivar resulted in a scoreless draw; at home, RiverHawks are 7-0 when facing SBU. The series started with 13-nil thumping by NSU in 1996 during the team's inaugural season. In the overall series, the RiverHawks are 11-2-2 against Southwest Baptist.
Scouting the Bearcats
- Southwest Baptist is 0-1-1 to start the season and has not won a match in its previous 11 attempts.
- Despite its woes in the win column, SBU played Ouachita Baptist Sunday to a 1-1 match up to the 84th minute. Ouachita Baptist was picked to finish second in the Great American Conference and was edged 1-nil against NSU in this season's opener.
- The Bearcats have 18 returners from its roster from last season.
