TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State remained unbeaten this season and went toe-to-toe in a 2-2 draw against No. 7 Central Oklahoma Sunday.
Payton Lieb kicked in her third goal of the season to give the RiverHawks a 2-1 advantage with 15 minutes remaining in the contest. NSU held the lead for eight minutes before the Bronchos got an equalizer on a penalty kick.
All the scoring took place in the second half, with UCO taking advantage of a misplayed kick allowing a Broncho attacker to charge NSU's keeper one-on-one for a goal in the 53rd minute.
Fran Badillo countered nine minutes late on a pass from
Sydney Taylor that left her wide open for her first career goal on a shot from 20 yards out.
Alexis Rodgers was credited with the assist on Lieb's goal on a cross pass.
Northeastern State had a 10-to-8 shot advantage over UCO (5-0-1) as the RiverHawks moved to 3-0-3 on the year.
The RiverHawks are on the road next week and will travel to Wichita to play Newman Friday evening.
