RiverHawks open GAC/MIAA play on the road

TAHLEQUAH -- No. 16 Northeastern State opens GAC/MIAA play in Arkansas this week, visiting Harding Thursday and Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon. 

The RiverHawks (2-1-1) have been idle since Sept. 4 but faced off against its alumni this previous Friday.  In conference openers, NSU has won its last two contests.

Despite playing in two fewer matches this season, Flynn Semmerling is tied with three others for the conference lead with a trio of goals.  Niklas Kirhoff has the GAC/MIAA low for goals against average at 1.000 and holds a .833 save percentage.

History with the Bison
Northeastern State is 23-1 all-time against Harding and is 10-1 when facing the Bison on the road.  The RiverHawks shut out Harding in both regular season meetings one year ago.

Scouting the Bison (0-5)
- Harding has been shut out three times this season and limited to just two goals.
- At home this season, the Bison are 0-4.
- Its offense has been limited to a GAC/MIAA low of 12 corners and 2.4 shots-on-goal per game.

History with the Tigers
The RiverHawks have won eight straight against the Tigers and are 19-3 all-time when facing Ouachita Baptist.  Northeastern State has shut out OBU in the previous three meetings. 

Scouting the Tigers (0-4-2)
- Ouachita Baptist has been shut out in its previous two matches and will host Southern Nazarene Thursday before hosting NSU. 
- The Tigers haven't won at home since October last year and are 0-5-1 in its previous six matches on Kluck Field.
- OBU is second to last in the GAC/MIAA with 13 corners and 3.0 shots-on-goal per game.

Chasing History
With 36 career goals, Flynn Semmerling is three behind Sergio Salinas (2003-04), who is second all-time in the men's soccer record and the NCAA era leader.  Grant Harkreader (1997-2000)  is third on the all-time list with 37.

Coming Up 
Following their trip to Arkansas, the RiverHawks will have their home opener Saturday evening against Rogers State.
