McCully and Kirhoff earn second GAC Weekly Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Northeastern State's Niklas Kirhoff earned Great American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, and Ryan McCully was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, league officials announced Wednesday afternoon.

Kirhoff had shutouts in both matches last week for the RiverHawks with six overall saves.  The senior moved his career shutout total to eight and has not allowed a goal in 347 consecutive minutes.

McCully was a part of an NSU defense that did not allow a goal last week while scoring in both matches.  He was the only player in the GAC/MIAA to have multiple goals  to open conference play.

The GAC weekly honor is the third for Kirhoff and the second for McCully.  Of the 13 weekly conference men's soccer honors issued this season, Northeastern State has claimed five.
