EDMOND –
Emilia Cosatto reached the ITA Central Region Finals to cap a successful fall start for the RiverHawks.
Northeastern State claimed three of the eight bracket titles, winning 15 singles matches and five doubles matches.
Cosatto needed a pair of three-set contests to reach the finals. She would best Northwest Missouri's Vera Alenicheva in the quarterfinals Saturday evening. When play resumed Sunday, Cosatto thumped Missouri Western's Izzy McGibbon 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the finals.
Following five consecutive wins at singles, Cosatto finished runner-up in the main bracket, falling 6-3, 6-1 to Washburn's Sofia Smagina.
Alisha Moldakhmetova reached the Round of 16 in the main singles bracket before dropping a three-set result on Saturday.
In the singles "B" bracket,
Sandra Mari Marti earned the top seed overall and jetted through her bracket, picking up four wins. The true freshman claimed the bracket championship in straight sets over Northwest Missouri's Sofia Pignataro.
Moldakhmetova and
Roos Karremans won four times in the Doubles "B" bracket and claimed a title over Nebraska-Kearney, 8-5.
Mari Marti and
Leah Gonzales-Edwards claimed the "B" bracket consolation title 6-2 over Missouri Western.
The RiverHawks will return home to host its Rumble at the River this Friday in Tahlequah.
