MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – Northeastern State couldn't find a fourth low score Tuesday and dropped a spot on the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh place at the MSSU Men's Fall Invitational.
The RiverHawks carded a 306 in the final trip through the Shangri-La Country Club and scored a three-round total of 906. Maryville and Missouri Western would tie with NSU.
Christian Yanovitch shot the low round for NSU Tuesday with a 73 and paced the team with a 222 (74-75-73). The sophomore made the turn with an eagle on the tenth pin and was two-under on the back nine finishing the tournament tied for 16th place.
Carlos Gomez turned in a 225 (77-73-75) and was nine-over on the par 72 course tied for 32nd.
Brett Wilcoxen was three strokes behind him but matched Gomez's 75 on Tuesday, placing tied for 42nd overall.
Jordan Allaire shot a 236 (80-73-83), and
Parker Rose had a 248 (84-78-86).
Henderson State and Missouri-St. Louis was tied for the top spot on the team leaderboard with an 871. Matt Jackman of St. Mary's (Texas) claimed the medalist title with a 210.
Northeastern State will have a pair of weeks off before heading to St. Joseph, Missouri, for the Holiday Inn Express Invitational.
