BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. –
Aitana Hernandez fired off an even-par 72 and recorded her 21st career top-10 finish Wednesday.  But a mere four-over-par on their second tour through the Adams Point Golf Club wasn't enough as Northeastern State slipped one spot on the leaderboard to finish in fourth place, carding a 590 (298-292).
Hernandez was four strikes back of the leader, tied for eighth place, carding a 145 (73-72). Â The senior nailed four birdies and shot a one-under on the back-nine.Â
The RiverHawks were second overall in the 16-team field with 114 pars and third, landing 22 birdies.Â
Henderson State blistered the field, shooting a seven-under, 281 score, and won the tournament by nine strokes (573) over Nebraska-Kearney.Â
"Scoring conditions were perfect, and the course was easy from tee to green, and it became a putting contest," said head coach
Scott Varner. Â "It didn't really reward good ball striking; we are a good ball striking team."
