NSU travels to Ouachita Baptist Saturday for Weekend Tilt

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State goes on the road for their lone matchup of the week, facing Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark. in GAC/MIAA play. 

Last week, the RiverHawks snagged a 1-0 victory over Newman in Wichita, Kan. on Oct. 5 before taking a 2-2 draw against Fort Hays State at DeLoache Field.

History with the Tigers
Northeastern State holds a 21-3 record against Ouachita Baptist. The RiverHawks have claimed their last ten against the Tigers. OBU enters Saturday in search of their first win against NSU since Oct. 17, 2016. 

Scouting the Tigers
- Ouachita Baptist heads to Searcy, Ark. on Thursday to take on Harding before facing Northeastern State Saturday. 
- OBU has scored the fewest goals (10) so far in the GAC/MIAA, while they've allowed the most (35) in the conference. 
- Ebon Jordan and Marshall Prather are tied for the team lead with three goals each. Jordan netted two of his converted attempts against Fort Hays State on Sept. 28 to force a 2-2 draw with the Tigers, while Prather played a big role in a 4-4 draw two days later against Newman, with two of his three makes so far in 2023 coming against the Jets. 
- The Tigers enter the week as the conference's lone winless team. It's been over a year since OBU's last win, which came on Sept. 24, 2022 against Newman. 

Fast Facts 
- The RiverHawks have shut out the Tigers in their last five meetings. Of those five, NSU has scored at least three goals in three of them. 
- Last season in Arkadelphia, three first half goals elevated NSU to a 3-0 win over OBU. Miguel Torres, Ryan McCully, and Giani Mascarel all scored in the win, their ninth all-time against the Tigers on the road.

- Ian Milla is ranked tenth nationally with a .854 save percentage and 22nd in goals against average (.693 per game). 
- Ivan Lopez is eighth nationally in shot accuracy (.704) and is tied for 17th in shots on goal per game (1.9).
- Marcovich Brown is tied for 25th nationally in assists (five). 

Coming Up
Northeastern State remains on the road to start the following week, battling Rogers State on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in Claremore, Okla. before returning to DeLoache Field to face Southern Nazarene on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.
