Maceli, RiverHawks In Top Five after Day One of Tulsa Cup

TULSA, Okla. – Sam Maceli highlighted Northeastern State's efforts on the first day of the Tulsa Cup, as the junior is tied for fifth among individuals, while the RiverHawks are tied for fifth among competing teams with Monday's action in the books.

NSU turned in a 616 (305-311) across the first two rounds, tying with Oklahoma Baptist for the final spot in the top five. Their opening round score placed the RiverHawks in third behind Central Missouri and Rogers State, but their second round total opened the door for NSU to be surpassed by Southwestern Oklahoma and Arkansas Tech while allowing the Bison to catch up and force the tie for fifth.

Maceli shot a 147 (72-75), good enough to put her in a four-way tie for fifth place. She sits one shot back from fourth and three back from breaking into the top three.

Marybeth Bellnap shot a 155 (76-79) to crack the top 30, while Yasmin Hang logged a 157 (78-79) on the day. Ines Diaz added a 159 (81-78), while Jessica Parker shot a 79 in the opening round before withdrawing in the afternoon.

The Tulsa Cup concludes tomorrow with the third and final round.
