TAHLEQUAH – The regular season concludes this week for NSU women's soccer as they are vying for their 11th consecutive postseason appearance. Northeastern State heads first to Newman on Thursday evening and wraps things up nearby in Claremore with Rogers State on Sunday.
The RiverHawks (5-7-4, 3-5-1 MIAA) currently sit in seventh place with ten points in the MIAA standings with Rogers State one point back. Nebraska Kearney sits just outside of the top eight with eight points and Central Oklahoma is tenth with seven points. The top four teams in the regular season standings host the opening round of the tournament, NSU is eliminated from hosting contention being nine points back in the standings from fourth place.

History with the Jets (2-13-1, 1-8 MIAA)
The RiverHawks hold a 14-1-1 lead in the all-time series against Newman and are 6-0-1 against the Jets on the road. NSU's last two outings with Newman have been 4-nil blowouts in favor of the RiverHawks with
Sydney Taylor recording a hat-trick on the Sept. 22 meeting in Tahlequah. Newman did draw 2-2 with the RiverHawks in last season's non-conference visit to Wichita.
Scouting the Jets
- Newman will come into their meeting Friday holding a seven-match losing skid with their MIAA postseason hopes faded.
- The Jets allow nearly three goals per game which is last in the MIAA and are tied for last with nine goals scored this season.
- Sophomore Maylani Birckbichler has one-third of the Jets' goals this season and has scored in both of Newman's wins this season.
- Freshman Allison Hernandez has landed a goal in two of the last three matches this season.

History with the Hillcats (6-8-2, 3-6 MIAA)
The RiverHawks are 2-2-3 against its closest MIAA foe and hold a 0-1-2 mark when facing the Hillcats in Claremore. Northeastern State came away with a scoreless draw last season when visiting RSU. In the season's previous meeting, the Hillcats came away with a 3-nil win in Tahlequah on Sept. 15.
Scouting the Hillcats
- Rogers State travels to Edmond on Friday to see Central Oklahoma. A win for the Hillcats would eliminate Central Oklahoma from postseason contention.
- The Hillcats enter the week on a three-game skid and are 2-4-1 at home this season.
- Goalkeeper Tiffany Brittan leads the MIAA with 5.93 saves per game this season and has shutout the RiverHawks twice in her career with nine stops at the net.
- Junior Alix Tirado leads the Hillcats with five goals and had two assists against the RiverHawks this season.

- Rogers State's three goals against Northeastern State on Sept. 15 marked the first time in series history that the Hillcats connected on more than two tries. It also marked RSU's third shutout on the defensive side against NSU across their last four meetings.
