Women's Soccer earns three All-MIAA Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three members of the Northeastern State women's soccer team were honored as part of the MIAA's postseason awards, association officials announced Wednesday.

Whitney Gentry earned Second Team honors, with Sydney Taylor being placed as Third Team and Lexis Walls was MIAA Honorable Mention. 

Gentry landed all five of her goals in MIAA play and had a pair of game-winners in association action.  The junior had 23 shot-on-goal during MIAA action and started all 18 matches this season. 

Taylor finished the MIAA regular season tied for third overall with nine goals scored and earned Offensive Player of the Week honors following a hat trick performance.  

Walls headlined a defensive backline that had six shutouts this season with the senior being tied for second among NSU players in minutes played. 

Northeastern State earned the number-6 seed in the upcoming MIAA Tournament and will travel to Fort Hays State on Friday.
