RiverHawks Pull Away in Second Half to top Ecclesia 94-63

TAHLEQUAH –  Northeastern State found its rhythm in the second half as they pulled away from Ecclesia 94-63 inside Jack Dobbins Field House on Saturday afternoon.  The win over the Royals snapped a five-game skid as they closed out non-conference action improving to 5-6 overall.

After a rollercoaster first half, where the RiverHawks were 16-of-39 (41.0%) overall and suffered a 12-0 scoring run from the Royals, NSU powered back with a 54-point closing period, highlighted by a much-improved 23-of-39 (59.0%) clip with six made three-point shots.

The RiverHawks had five in double figures with Anthony Allen pacing the team with 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting.  Caison Hartloff sank four triples and had 20 points.

Trey Quartlebaum converted seven tries from the floor for a 16-point performance to finish third in scoring. Ethan Blackmon reached double figures with 11.

Meanwhile, Jaxon Jones had a stellar day on both ends of the floor, nearly recording a double-double on 11 points and eight assists. Jones also had six rebounds and four steals in the win.

Northeastern State returns to MIAA play on Thursday evening to host Northwest Missouri at 7:30 p.m. inside the NSU Event Center.
