KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A strong opening week in league play earned
Halie Jones MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Honors.
Jones played a leading role in Northeastern State's 74-71 victory over Nebraska-Kearney last Saturday, tallying a career-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 5-of-7 from three-point range. Her scoring output against the defending conference champions marked the best in the MIAA over the week. She also provided 14 points in NSU's matchup against Fort Hays State last Thursday.
The fifth year senior leads the team in scoring (15.0 PPG) and steals (1.9 SPG). She has hit double figures in scoring in all seven games this season.
