Softball seeks to keep momentum rolling in OKC

TAHLEQUAH – Riding off an undefeated weekend in Arkansas, Northeastern State softball heads to the Oklahoma City metropolitan area for games on Saturday and Sunday.

The RiverHawks (5-3) will see East Central (0-4) and Southwestern Oklahoma (3-6) at Yukon High School on Saturday.  On the following day, NSU faces Southeastern Oklahoma (3-6) on the campus of Central Oklahoma and closes things out at Southern Nazarene (4-4).

Chloe Bohuslavicky leads the MIAA with five homers and is batting .364 this season.  The RiverHawks have leaned on the long ball, hitting an MIAA high 13 over the fence.  Despite not getting recognition by the Association, Madison Heinle had an elite weekend recording a 0.00 ERA in 17 innings pitched, with two saves and 24 strikeouts.  The sophomore had her first no-hitter at NSU in a 2-0 win over Truman State.

Saturday evening's game will have a unique matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma, where the RiverHawks will face off against one of its alumni, Jessica Boone (2015-18).   Boone started in 206 games at NSU and was a graduate assistant for the program for three seasons following her graduation.

As of Thursday evening, there will be no live coverage available for Saturday's games.  Both contests Sunday will have live stats and video.
