SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Northeastern State is tied for seventh place Monday after two rounds of The Rattler Invitational.
The action is the spring debut for the RiverHawks; they carded rounds of 300 and 306 on the par 72 Dominion Country Club.
NSU struggled on the short yardage holes and was 19 over on par-3s, second highest among the 12 teams in the field.
Carlos Gomez leads NSU and is tied for 13th on the medalist leaderboard shooting a 150 (72-78). The senior was tied for the second most birdies with eight and landed 17 pars.
Ryan Morant fired off the team's second-lowest score of 153 (75-78) and is tied for 26th.
Christian Yanovitch was one back of him, tied for 32nd place.
Brett Wilcoxen turned in a 155, and
Gabe Replogle had a 156. Replogle was one of 16 golfers who had an eagle Monday, doing so on the 11th pin in the morning round.
Dallas Baptist holds a six-stroke lead over Cameron shooting a 588. The Patriots have players in second and third place overall.
The RiverHawks will return to the course Tuesday for the final round starting at 8:15 a.m.
