LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Northeastern State men's golf continued their momentum creating an exciting day for the RiverHawks as they will bring home their third consecutive team win in Las Vegas and an individual win for
Christian Yanovitch after their final day of The Warrior Invitational.
The RiverHawks carded a 907 (294-306-307) with Winona State University following NSU very closely with an overall score of 908 (295-307-306). Luckily NSU was able to hold its ground and pull out the win. The RiverHawks had one eagle, 36 birdies and landed 145 pars.
Yanovitch had an incredible day yet again shooting 215 (74-67-74) holding his spot for first place and beating out Alek Mauro or Detroit Mercy who shot 218 (72-73-73) and Alessandro Trenta of Winona State who has been on the top of the leaderboard throughout the entire invitational.
Ryan Morant also continued the trend of rising in rankings and finished tied for ninth after shooting 228 (75-78-75).
Carlos Gomez trailed close behind in a tie for 12th scoring 230 (69-81-80).
Brett Wilcoxen turned in a 235 (77-80-78) moving him up two places to a four-way tie for 17th place.
Parker Rose trudged behind his teammates but moved down in the rankings seven places to a tie for 30th place after scoring a 241 (76-82-83).
Southwestern Oklahoma continued to follow NSU and Winona closely however, their efforts weren't enough, scoring 914 (297-308-309).
The RiverHawks will return to action in Edmond, Oklahoma at the Broncho Invitational starting March 20.
