Sandra Mari Marti gave NSU's its fourth point as the RiverHawks earned a hard-fought win over Drury, 4-3, on Sunday.
Mari Marti was on the final remaining court for the RiverHawks and rallied from a 6-4 first-set loss. The freshman won the last two sets, 6-3 and 7-5.
Valeria Teran was NSU's third point, winning in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
"Man, just an unreal team effort today," said head coach
Tim McLane. Have to give credit to Drury because they were outplaying us for a while, and these youngsters just dug in deep and kept fighting.
To have three freshmen out there battling in tight third sets and come through for the team was great to see."
No. 22 ranked
Emilia Cosatto moved to 5-0 this spring, beating No. 16 Nastasia Jedrychowsk 6-4, 6-2 on the main court.
Drury falls to 5-4 on the year and is winless in 16 visits to NSU.
The RiverHawks move to 4-1 on the year and will return to action Wednesday to host Arkansas Tech.
