JOPLIN, Mo. – Northeastern State finished their day where they started and will leave the Virginia Laas Invitational with a fourth-place finish carding an 970 (319-325-326) on the par-72 Eagle Creek Golf Club. 

The three-round tournament is an early preview of the upcoming MIAA Women's Golf Championship which will be held on the same course in two weeks.  The RiverHawks were the third-highest-finishing team in the field with Central Missouri and Rogers State ahead of NSU. 

Nina Lee slipped three spots but finished tied for fifth place, carding a 230 (74-76-81) for her sixth overall top-five finish.  The senior had 30 pars and six birdies, she also held the fourth-lowest scoring average on par fours. 

Kelly Swanson was tied with three others for 29th place, shooting a 245 (81-81-83) and Yasmin Hang came in one stroke behind her tied for 32nd, firing off NSU's low score Tuesday with a 79. 

Sam Maceli came in 46th place, shooting a 251 (82-86-83).  Hanna Lignell withdrew, giving NSU only four playable scores. 

Henderson State beat UCM by five strokes scoring a 916 for the team championship.  The Reddies' Jinna Boonbumroongsuk claimed the medalist title by nine strokes, shooting a 217. 

Northeastern State returns to the course on April 23-26 for the MIAA Championship.
