Women's Tennis closes regular season on the road

TAHLEQUAH – NSU women's tennis closes the regular season on the road and will see Emporia State and Newman.

The RiverHawks (8-7, 3-3 MIAA) are vying for its tenth consecutive postseason berth and are currently tied with Central Oklahoma for fifth in the MIAA standings.  Due to NSU winning the head-to-head matchup with UCO, any tiebreaker would go to the RiverHawks.

Half the MIAA teams have already completed their regular season, with Northwest Missouri and Washburn claiming the top two seeds.   Depending on how NSU's plays this weekend, they can move as high as fourth or drop out of tournament contention with two setbacks.

Northeastern State is 11-2 all-time against Emporia State and 2-2 when facing Newman.  The RiverHawks lost matches to the pair in last season's matchup.

First serve in Emporia is scheduled for 2 p.m., and Saturday's match at Newman is 12 p.m.
