KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Northeastern State is picked to finish fourth in women's golf, and the men's program is voted to place fifth with the release of the MIAA Preseason Golf Polls Thursday.
The men's golf team garnered 48 points in their poll and grabbed one first-place tally. 
Missouri Southern had three first-place votes and 62 points.  They edged Central Missouri by one point and had four first-place nods.  Central Oklahoma is third with 52 points and the remaining first-place vote.  Washburn came in fourth place, one point back of UCO.
Rogers State (40 points), Missouri Western (39 points), Fort Hays State (27 points), Lincoln (14 points, and Newman (11 points) rounded out the poll.
Central Missouri took top preseason honors in the women's poll with 87 points and seven first-place votes.  Rogers State took the remaining three first-place nods with 81 points for second place.  Nebraska-Kearney is third with 70 points, and Northeastern State had 66, beating Central Oklahoma by three points for fourth place.
Missouri Southern is sixth with 46 points, and Missouri Western came in seventh place racking up 45. 
Northwest Missouri (36 points), Fort Hays State (24 points), Lincoln (20 points), and Newman (12 points) finished the rest of the poll.
