TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State women's tennis has signed Andrea Vargas to a national letter of intent, head coach Tim McLane announced Wednesday. 

Vargas signs from Lima, Peru where she held her best ITA junior world ranking of 1958.

"We're excited for Andrea to join RiverHawk Nation just in time for the fall semester," said McLane.  "She's going to be able to step in right away and give us some more depth to our lineup, and her experience playing at the ITF junior level will be a big asset. 

She's also got some weapons that will go a long way in aiding her development during her time in college. Andrea is a good student, which this program prides itself on." 

Vargas holds a UTR rating of 7.23 and a career-high of 7.60 in January 2023.
