Women's Tennis wraps up its Rumble by the River

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State finished 7-5 in both singles and doubles at its Rumble by the River this Friday and Saturday. 

The RiverHawks doubles teams went 2-1 against Dallas Baptist and Ouachita Baptist on Friday morning.  Central Oklahoma took courts one and three in NSU's third double's match of the morning to edge the RiverHawks 2-1. 

NSU's lone single action Friday came against Ouachita Baptist, the bottom half of the RiverHawks' lineup earned wins with Leah Gonzales-Edwards earning a 6-2, 6-3 win in twos. 

Saturday's action put the RiverHawks against Emporia State for doubles in the morning and Northeastern State would edge the Hornets 2-1.  In singles, the RiverHawks and Bronchos split with NSU winning its bottom three slots.  

The RiverHawks four through six singles slots were a perfect 6-0 with Gonzales-Edwards and Valeria Teran going 4-0 at two-doubles. 

Northeastern State will be off until ITA Central Regional in Edmond on Sept. 23.
