Tahlequah, Okla.  - NSU Director of Athletics John Sisemore announced the Northeastern State Backers campaign on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024.

"The Northeastern State Backers will be an integral part of the future success of the NSU football program," said Sisemore. "One of the areas we have been behind over the last several years compared to our MIAA and NCAA DII counterparts is external fundraising. Coach Chev has the background experience and knowledge to propel the NSU Football program to new heights, and through the Northeastern State Backers, you too can help lift our program back to where it belongs among the elite in the country. There is no doubt that with your support we will take this program to new heights."

NSU Football alumni, including 1999 NCAA DII Semifinalist Adam Beauchamp, have joined the Northeastern State Backers campaign to make NSU football great again. "In order for any person or program to be successful the support they receive must match the expectations they are held to," said Beauchamp.  "I look forward to and expect NSU football to be great again and that is why I choose to support Coach Chev and the Northeastern State Backers both financially and by attending as many events as possible."

Supporter levels are based on annual giving and can be broken up into scheduled monthly payments:

National Champions: $10,000+ annually ($834/month)
All American: $5,000+ annually ($417/month)
All Conference: $2,000+ annually ($167/month)
Captain: $1,000+ annually ($84/month)
Starter: $500+ annually ($42/month)
Letterman: $250+ annually ($21/month)

"My vision and belief for Northeastern State University is that we should be among the elite in NCAA Division II college football," said head coach Darrin Chiaverini. "I came to Tahlequah, Oklahoma because I could see and feel that the Northeastern community and alumni were ready to bring back the great tradition of winning championships at NSU! For our program to elevate to prominence at the national level we will need your support. We have put together a very detailed list of the areas that need to be elevated. With your help, we will close the gap quickly and put ourselves in a position to lift up trophies together and graduate our student-athletes!"
