Trey Quartlebaum finished Saturday's meeting with Pittsburg State recording 20 points, the best among NSU players in a 97-73 loss in John Lance Arena.
The RiverHawks (7-13, 2-12 MIAA) finished the contest shooting above 50.0% for the seventh time this season, ending with a 50.8% (30-of-59) clip, but they struggled to limit the Gorillas (10-8, 6-6 MIAA) and their 64.3% (36-of-56) effort in the matchup, while included a 15-of-21 (71.4%) performance from three-point distance.
Quartlebaum's 20 highlighted an offensive attack that landed five players in double figures. The Lawrence, Kan. native played the entire distance and added three assists and two rebounds to his contributions.
Jaxon Jones led NSU players with four assists, while
Shakeil Bertrand provided a stellar day on the defensive end with four steals.
NSU is back at home next week, beginning with Emporia State Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
