ANDOVER, Kan. – Northeastern State overcame windy conditions and claimed a team championship at the Newman Invitational shooting a 632. The RiverHawks turned in a 315 on Tuesday at the Terradyne Country Club beating out the next closest team by 14 strokes.
Jessica Parker claimed medalist honors shooting a 155 (77-78) with all five players finishing in the top 11. The junior won by a stroke for her third top-five finish at NSU and the team's first medalist title in over a season.
Sam Maceli took fifth carding a 158 (81-77) for her second career top-five placing at NSU.
Ines Diaz was tied for sixth with a 160 (81-79) which is a career-high finish.
Laia Llorens and
Chloe Williamson were tied for 11th with a 163.
The team win is NSU's first since April 2, 2022, when they claimed the Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Arizona.
Northeastern State will have a week off before playing in the Tulsa Cup in Broken Arrow to close out their fall season.
