RiverHawks drop exhibition to Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Northeastern State officially began exhibition season in women's basketball, dropping a contest to Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville in an 88-54 decision Friday night.

The RiverHawks were held to 20-of-65 (30.8%) shooting in the loss. A majority of their tries occurred from beyond the arc, where the visitors were 7-of-34 (20.6%). After starting 12-of-20 (60%) from the opening quarter, the Razorbacks were 18-of-50 (36%) the rest of the night. Arkansas also took a narrow advantage on the glass, grabbing 46 rebounds to NSU's 41.

Grace Abercrombie led the team in scoring with 12 points, while Reese Shirey, Annaston Brown, and Alex Hill added eight. Emily Weathers led NSU in rebounding with six boards, while Courtney Lee had a three-block performance alongside a team-best three assists.

The exhibition schedule continues on Oct. 30, when NSU travels to play Wichita State at 6 p.m.
