ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Northeastern State recovered from a slow start at the Holiday Inn Express MWSU Men's Central Region Preview and sits in ninth place overall shooting a 584. The RiverHawks improved by eight strokes shooting a 288 on Monday afternoon and left the clubhouse with a 584.
Bliss Newton paced NSU with a 144 and shot a 69 in his second trip through the St. Joseph Country Club. The freshman finished his day carding a three-under on the final nine pins.
Will Livermore is tied for 28th overall shooting a 145 (72-73),
Brett Wilcoxen is two back of him tied for 38th (74-73),
Cole Waymire had a 148 (75-73) and is tied for 46th place.
Juan Vergel carded a 153 (75-78) and currently is in 74th.
The RiverHawks are five strokes back of Harding for sixth place with Central Oklahoma holding an 18-stroke lead over Missouri Western.
NSU returns to action on Tuesday at 9 a.m. the final round of play.
