RiverHawks host Henderson State on Wednesday

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State will welcome Henderson State for the first time since 1994 in women's basketball on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for a non-conference tilt.  The game will be broadcast live via PPV on The MIAA Network and aired over the radio on Lakes Country 102.1 FM with Orry Phillips and Lou Kelly on the call.

About Northeastern State (1-3)

Northeastern State captured its first win of the season on Nov. 14 over Haskell 77-63 on the RiverHawks' Nike N7 Night.  Alex Hill leads NSU through four games with 12.8 points per outing.  The graduate will be a familiar face for Henderson State and averaged 14 points in two meetings last season when Hill was at Arkansas Tech. Courtney Lee is second on NSU's roster with 9.8 points per game and led the RiverHawks with 17 points at Henderson State last season.  Northeastern State is shooting 35.6 percent from the field and 16.2 percent at the three-point arc. 

About Henderson State (1-2)

Henderson State earned an 83-73 win one week ago at home against Delta State after dropping two consecutive games to MIAA foes Central Missouri and Missouri Southern by 20+ points.  The Reddies won last season's Great American Conference tournament title and were picked to finish in sixth place in its preseason poll.  HSU returns six members from its 2024 GAC Championship squad, Jadah Pickens leads them through three games with 18.3 points per game.

The Series

Henderson State leads the brief series 2-1 over Northeastern State and won last season's meeting 69-56 in Arkadelphia.
