Women's Basketball to face Mary in neutral site contest, McPherson at JDF

TAHLEQUAH – Following a 70-61 midweek win over Henderson State, the RiverHawks will travel to Bethany College for a neutral site game with the University of Mary on Saturday at 1 p.m.  Bethany College will be providing the webcast feed along with the statistics for the contest that was added at the start of the playing season. 

On Monday, NSU returns to Jack Dobbins Field House for the second consecutive season to face McPherson College for the first time at 5 p.m.  A live broadcast feed will be available on The MIAA Network (PPV) and radio coverage on Lakes Country 102.1 with Orry Phillips on the call. 

A quick look back 

Northeastern State picked up their second straight victory after knocking off defending Great American Conference (GAC) tournament champions Henderson State on Wednesday night in a 70-61 triumph at the NSU Event Center. 

Alex Hill led the team with 19 points in the effort, while the Arkansas Tech transfer leads the RiverHawks in scoring (14.0 PPG) through five games. Courtney Lee grabbed nine rebounds against the Reddies and holds the team crown in boards claimed (31) entering this weekend.

About UMary (1-0)

The Marauders have been limited to just one official contest beating Dickerson State, 70-56, on Nov. 14, and they open conference play with Northern State on Nov. 21. The NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll projected the Marauders to finish ninth after going 22-11 last season.  UMary took second in the NSIC and made its championship game for the first time in program history.

UMary leads the brief series 2-1 over the RiverHawks.  Northeastern State won last season's meeting 74-66 in Tahlequah. 

About McPherson (0-7)

McPherson will be facing Ottawa (Kan.) on Saturday before traveling to Tahlequah on Monday.  The Bulldogs carry a robust roster of 31 and have averaged 58.1 points per game this fall.  Gillian Rodgers leads the Bulldogs with 9.7 points and has four games with double-digit scoring.
