Chiaverini Announces Staff Promotions

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State University head football coach Darrin Chiaverini announced staff promotions for four assistants heading into the new year.

Junior Tanuvasa has been elevated to Associate Head Coach in addition to his duties as Defensive Coordinator.  Jeremy Atwell has been promoted to assistant head coach, special teams coordinator, and safeties.  Noah Sutherland will be the team’s run game coordinator and continue work with the offensive line.  Curtis Chiaverini will be the team’s recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

“Coach Tanuvasa is a hard-working detailed coach that has been my right-hand man,” said Chiaverini.  “He has a passion for football and developing young people. He is the leader of our defense and I am excited to name him associate head coach.”

“Coach Atwell has been a huge asset to our program,” said Chiaverini. “He’s been someone I can count on to get things done and is a valued member of our coaching staff. I am proud to announce him as our Assistant Head Coach.”

"Coach Sutherland is a top-notch teacher and technician when it comes to offensive line play,"  said Chiaverini.  “He develops great relationships with his position group and contributes at a high level when it comes to game planning the run game.”

"Coach Chiaverini is a talented coach who is very detailed and deliberate when it comes to recruiting," said Chiaverini.  “He develops great relationships with players and their families and is very knowledgeable about high school programs in our surrounding areas.”
