JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –
Anthony Allen (25 points) and
Ethan Blackmon (22 points) totaled over half of Northeastern State's offensive production as the team soared to an 82-74 win over Lincoln in their final MIAA clash Thursday night in Jason Gym.
Down 38-37 at intermission, the RiverHawks (11-16, 6-15 MIAA) soared to a 45-point second half behind a 56.0% (14-of-25) shooting mark, in addition to stellar efficiency beyond the arc (50.0%, three-of-six) and at the free-throw line (14-of-17, 82.4%).
It took a come-from-behind late pursuit for the visitors to end the matchup on the winning side against the Blue Tigers (14-13, 9-12 MIAA), as NSU was down 64-54 with 9:15 to play, but ended on a 28-10 scoring run.
Allen made ten shots to go for 25 points in the win, while Blackmon made nine field goals in a 22-point night. The showing marks a new career high for Blackmon, surpassing his 20 points from the Feb. 22 encounter against Newman.
Trey Quartlebaum (13 points) and
Seth Pratt (ten points) both reached double figures, while
Jaxon Jones led the team in rebounding with eight boards and received credit on three of the offense's seven assists in the matchup.
Northeastern State concludes its 2023-24 run with a road meeting with Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. on Mar. 2 at 3 p.m.
