RiverHawks head to Arkansas for matches

TAHLEQUAH - Northeastern State women's tennis returns to the courts for the first time in over a week and will play matches at Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist.  Due to weather, the RiverHawks will play both on Saturday.

The RiverHawks (3-1) will play its next five matches on the road with Valeria Teran carrying a nine-match winning streak in singles.  Sandra Mari Marti is 3-1 this spring at the No. 3 singles spot and has won six consecutive doubles matches.  Northeastern State's last win in Arkansas came on March 1 with a 6-1 result to UA-Fort Smith. 

Henderson State (5-3) will play at Arkansas Tech on Wednesday before opening a three-match homestand with NSU.  The Reddies will play Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western following the match with the RiverHawks.  Northeastern State holds a 6-1 series lead over Henderson State. 

Ouachita Baptist (4-4) opens a three-match MIAA homestand with the RiverHawks on Saturday.  The Tigers played at NSU's Rumble by the River in September to open the year.  Northeastern State is 16-0 all-time against the Tigers and at the Rumble by the River, NSU went 4-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. 

Following NSU's trip to Arkansas, the RiverHawks head south of the Red River for a pair of matches during Spring Break.
