KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Will Livermore is tied for the lead through two rounds of play at the MIAA Men's Golf Championship Tuesday with the freshman carding a 146 (72-74) on the Shoal Creek Golf Club.
Northeastern State moved up one spot on the leaderboard and sits fourth with a 609 (299-310) with the top five teams passing Missouri Western who fell like a rock down to sixth place after shooting the second-highest score of the day. Teams did have to fight high winds and a 90-minute delay due to a morning thunderstorm. Play moved slowly throughout the day with the final teams coming off the course at dusk.
Livermore had half of NSU's four birdies and is tied with Central Missouri's Jack Hope the medalist spot. The most recent time an NSU men's golfer took a medalist crown at a conference championship was in 2007 with Joby Dutcher winning the Lone Star Conference title.
Parker Rose is the next highest NSU golfer and is tied for 11th place shooting a 151 (72-79).
Gabe Replogle and
Brett Wilcoxen are tied for 28th place carding a 156.
Cole Waymire shot a 163 (80-83) and is tied for 43rd.
Central Missouri holds a seven-stroke lead over Missouri Southern with play resuming at 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday for the RiverHawks.
