RiverHawks take seventh at Shangri-La

MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – Northeastern State took two steps backward Tuesday and finished the Showdown at Shangri-La in seventh place, shooting an 871 (289-278-304).  The RiverHawks' 304 was the highest among the top nine finishing teams at the Shangri-La Country Club. 

The MIAA designated event featured all ten teams, with Northeastern State taking fifth among that group. In the MIAA standings through three events, the RiverHawks remain in sixth place with 17.5 points, one point back of overtaking Missouri Western for fifth.  

The final MIAA points event will be at the Association's Championship on April 15-17 in Kansas City.

Like the weather in the last 24 hours, NSU's top three golfers cooled off with just one birdie being recorded.

Parker Rose had five of the team's seven birdies on Tuesday and had a one-under round of 70. The senior moved up 30 spots on the leaderboard to place tied for 15th overall, shooting a 217 (75-72-70).

Gabe Replogle had a 74 in his final round and took a tie for 13th place, carding a 216 (73-69-74). He held a tournament-best 38 pars and landed 15 on Tuesday.

Will Livermore slipped 24 spots on the leaderboard with an 80 in his final round and took tied for 39th (74-69-80=223). Cole Waymire and Brett Wilcoxen were tied for 48th overall, shooting a 225. Waymire was tied for the second-most pars with 34.

Central Oklahoma moved up two spots and claimed team honors with an 849, besting Harding by a stroke. UCO's Bennett Baldwin took medalist shooting a blistering 11-under-par 202 score.

The RiverHawks will close out their regular season on April 8-9 with the Palm Valley Classic in Phoenix, Arizona.
