PHOENIX, Ariz. – Northeastern State fired off a 13-under, 275 score in the final round of the RJGC Men's Palm Valley Classic and surged to a third-place finish Tuesday. The RiverHawks were 16-under-par through three rounds and carded an 848 score as a team.
Tuesday's 275 is the fourth-lowest score for the Northeastern State men's golf program and tied for second-lowest on a par-72 which was a 269 in the opening round of the 2009 Lone Star Conference Championship. NSU scored 274 on a par-71 in 2018 at the Muskogee Golf Club and 273 at the Kickingbird Golf Club in Edmond (par-70).
Will Livermore continued to spark NSU in the final round, landing d a 68, and took eighth place, scoring a 207 (68-71-68) for a 9-under tournament. Gabe Replogle and Parker Rose were 3-under overall tied for 20th place.
Brett Wilcoxen turned in a 68 and was tied for 28th shooting a 215 (71-76-68). The junior landed 14 pars and had four birdies on the day. Cole Waymire had a 228 (78-77-73) and was 96th on the leaderboard.
The RiverHawks dominated par-5s on Tuesday shooting a 12-under, and did not record a bogey.
Colorado Christian took the team title by six strokes shooting a 827 (37-under).
Tuesday's tournament closes out the regular season for NSU as they will travel to Kansas City, Mo. for the MIAA Championship on April 15-17.
