Men's Golf to play six tournaments for fall slate

| By:
TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State men's golf begins their 27th season under head coach Scott Varner this fall with a six-tournament schedule.

The slate begins with an MIAA-designated tournament with The Mule in Warrensburg, Mo. from Sep. 9-10, hosted by Central Missouri at Mule National Golf Course. The RiverHawks will then host the 26th NSU Men's Golf Classic in Muskogee, Okla. from Sep. 16-17, seeking to defend their crown after pacing last season's tournament field at Muskogee Golf Course.

NSU will commence a four-event October schedule with the Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., hosted by Missouri Western from Oct. 7-8. Two separate stays in Kansas make up the middle of the month with the Newman Invitational in Wichita (Oct. 14-15) and the Washburn Invitational in Topeka (Oct. 21-22). The Washburn Invitational marks the second and final MIAA-designated event of the calendar year for the RiverHawks.

The final tournament of the fall takes place in Broken Arrow, Okla., as Rogers State hosts the Tulsa Cup from Oct. 28-29 at Indian Springs Country Club.

Northeastern State claimed their 20th NCAA postseason appearance last season, earning a spot in the Super Regional in May and taking a third-place finish at the MIAA Championship in April.
