MUSKOGEE, Okla. --
Will Livermore shot a 134 to lead the field of individuals after two rounds and one day of action at Muskogee Country Club at the 26th NSU Men's Golf Classic. The RiverHawks shot a 580 as a team to tie for 11th.
Livermore leads by two strokes over Southeastern Oklahoma State's Jesse Rouse (136) and tied for the second-lowest score on the closing round with a 66. The only player to log a lower result for the second round of action was
Juan Vergel, who also ranks inside the top ten among individuals for NSU with a seventh-place ranking with a round to go after carding a 139 (74-65).
Cole Waymire saw a seven-stroke improvement from the first round to the second and finished the day inside the top 50 individually with a 147 (77-70).
Brett Wilcoxen (72-77) and
Parker Rose (73-76) shot a pair of 149s, respectively, while
Bliss Newton wasn't far behind with a 150 (73-77). Competing as individuals,
Brody Newton landed a 148 (71-77), while
Evan Weaver provided a 150 (79-71).
As a team, NSU sits four strokes back of the top ten, while Henderson State (555) holds a three-stroke edge over Harding (558) for the tournament lead.
The RiverHawks are back in action with a 9:48 a.m. tee time on Tuesday to conclude the event.
