| By:
MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- Will Livermore shot a 70 in the concluding round of action at the 26th NSU Men's Golf Classic at Muskogee Country Club to secure an individual title at the tournament with a 204 (68-66-70), while Northeastern State finished 12th as a team with an 874 (292-288-294).

Livermore becomes the program's first individual champion at their home event since 2009 (Josh Boswell) and the fourth NSU golfer overall. It marks the sixth time and second straight year NSU won its tournament individually or as a team after the RiverHawks won the team title in Muskogee in 2023. The sophomore bested his three-round low by three strokes, with today's one-under round being his 12th under-par score.

Juan Vergel finished in the top 20 with a 215 (74-65-76), while Cole Waymire matched his second round score of 70 to conclude the event with a 217 (77-70-70). Brett Wilcoxen finished a stroke back at 218 (72-77-69), while Bliss Newton carded a 229 (73-77-79) and Parker Rose netted a 231 (73-76-82), respectively.

Alongside Livermore, competing individually were Evan Weaver and Brody Newton. Weaver finished with a score of 223 (79-71-73), while Newton finished with a 228 (71-77-80).

Henderson State held onto their day one lead to claim a one-stroke victory over second-place Harding at the tournament, logging an 834 (282-273-279) to Harding's 835 (278-280-277).

NSU begins their October schedule with the Holiday Inn Express Classic, hosted by Missouri Western, at St. Joseph Country Club from Oct. 7-8.
