EDMOND, Okla. – Northeastern State won five singles matches and four doubles matches this last weekend at the ITA Central Women's Tennis Regional in Edmond. 

Lucia Bontempo claimed three of those matches in Flight B Consolation reaching the quarterfinals.  Due to the possibility of weather conditions on Sunday, the remainder of her bracket was not played.  The freshman beat foes from Ouachita Baptist, Harding, and a three-set thriller over Washburn.

Tegan Heaton and Sofia Kotliarova reached the Flight A Consolation Quarterfinals beating Sioux Falls and then Emporia State.  The remainder of the bracket was canceled due to the threat of weather on Sunday. 

Lucia Bontempo and Barbora Havlova cruised through Flight B with an 8-2 win over Henderson State and reached the round of 16 with an 8-3 victory over Northwest Missouri.  Much like the other non-Flight A matches, the rest of their bracket was canceled.

The RiverHawks close out their fall with its 'Battle Royale' on Oct. 18-20 in Tahlequah.
