TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State got off to a strong start at its fourth edition of the Rumble by the River earning ten singles wins across two days.

The RiverHawks went 3-1 against Southeastern in singles and matched that result with Emporia State.  Tegan Heaton, Sofia Kotliarova, and newcomer Lucia Bontempo claimed both singles wins on Friday.  

In doubles, Heaton and Kotliarova beat Emporia State 7-5, splitting the courts for the RiverHawks.

On Saturday, NSU swept Ouachita Baptist in singles and split its doubles results against the Tigers.
