TAHLEQUAH — Alex Hill (25 points) and Deyanna Douglas (18) earned season highs in scoring, while Northeastern State rolled to an 80-59 victory over Central Oklahoma Thursday night.
The RiverHawks (6-8, 2-3 MIAA) fought a back-and-forth opening half with the Bronchos (4-10, 3-2 MIAA), landing on 15-of-34 (44.1%) and taking a five-point advantage to break (41-36).
After the NSU offense struggled to ignite in the following stanza, knocking down only three field goals, the RiverHawks exploded to a +19 fourth quarter (28-9) by shooting comfortably 50% from the floor (11-of-19, 57.9%) and holding the Bronchos to only three made shots in the last ten minutes.
With the win, the RiverHawks move to 35-32 in the all-time series against the Bronchos and have now earned three wins in as many contests against their in-state rivals across the Ferguson era.
Alex Hill landed on eight field goals en route to her season-best scoring total, while Courtney Lee (18 points) and Annaston Brown (11) also reached double figures with Hill and Douglas. Douglas also emerged with a double-double after grabbing 11 rebounds, while the freshman paced the team with three steals (tied with Brown) and two blocks.
The RiverHawks return in action against Rogers State on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the NSU Event Center.
