Northeastern State heads to Southern Nazarene for Saturday tilt

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State men's soccer team has one final road game in conference play, having Southern Nazarene as the lone opponent this Saturday at 7 p.m.

The RiverHawks (8-5-2, 5-4 GAC/MIAA) gathered all six points last week with wins over Ouachita Baptist and Harding, and are 12 teams under consideration from Super Region 3 for the NCAA Tournament.

Carl Murch found the net twice in NSU's 3-2 win over Harding, being awarded GAC/MIAA Offensive Player of the Week, as the RiverHawks currently sit at third in the conference standings with 15 points.

History with the Crimson Storm
  • Earlier this season, NSU defeated the Crimson Storm 2-1 with the goals coming from Carter Adams and Brandon Fuenmayor.
  • Overall, the RiverHawks are 9-18-1 at Bethany; the latest visit being a 2-2 draw.
Scouting the Crimson Storm
  • SNU (5-6-3, 3-4-2 GAC/MIAA) has hung around .500 all season, drawing to No. 5 Fort Hays State and losing to Newman this past week.
  • The Crimson Storm are four points behind NSU in the GAC/MIAA table, although they have to face No. 17 Rogers State before the RiverHawks visit them.
