ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Northeastern State's
Nathan Biais earned his second top-10 finish of the fall Tuesday at the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Invitational, carding a 4-over-par 146 at St. Joseph Country Club.
Biais fired matching rounds of 73 on the par-71 layout, helping the RiverHawks place ninth in the 10-team field with a 603 total (294–309).
It was a day of mixed fortunes for NSU, which saw its lineup record at least a double bogey or worse on ten holes during Tuesday's second round. Despite the miscues, Biais' steady play stood out as the lone bright spot in a challenging outing.
Ian Wilcoxen followed in a tie for 27th at 152, highlighted by an opening-round 69 before fading with an 83.
Mateo Castro (155),
Will Livermore (156), and
Kaden Risenhoover (159) rounded out the RiverHawks' scoring.
Minnesota Crookston claimed the team title at 587, while Central Missouri's CJ Phillips took medalist honors with a 2-under 140, closing with a blistering 64.
The Northeastern State University men's golf team now turns its focus to the MSSU Lion Invitational, set for Oct. 20-21 at Shangri-La Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
