BETHANY, Okla. -- Northeastern State struck early but couldn't hang on as Southern Nazarene scored three second-half goals to run away with a 4–1 win Saturday night at Wanda Rhodes Soccer Complex.
The RiverHawks (8–6–2, 5–5–0 MIAA) answered quickly after SNU's opening strike when
Carter Adams netted an equalizer in the 9th minute off a setup from
Marco Cornelio. Adams' goal—his team-leading ninth of the season—briefly leveled the score before the Crimson Storm (6–7–3, 4–5–2 GAC/MIAA) took control after halftime.
SNU's Junior Duran reclaimed the lead in the 52nd minute with help from Francisco Chong, who added his second goal of the day from the penalty spot seven minutes later. Bafode Savane capped the scoring in the 85th minute, assisted by Keshon Carter.
Northeastern State outshot Southern Nazarene 13–10 but couldn't solve keeper Aimar Aramendia, who made five saves.
Cameron McColloch tallied two saves for NSU in the loss.
The RiverHawks return home Thursday to close out the regular season, hosting Rogers State at 7 p.m. in DeLoache Field.
