TAHLEQUAH – The Northeastern State women's basketball team travels to Henderson State on Tuesday for its final game before the Thanksgiving break, tipping off against the Reddies at 5:30 p.m. The RiverHawks aim to continue their best start in 15 years, entering the matchup with a perfect 5-0 record. They are one of just five teams nationwide to remain unbeaten through their first five contests.
A Quick Look Back
NSU left Topeka with a 78–68 win over MSU Denver and followed it up by dominating the second half to defeat Southwest Baptist, 76–61. Sophomore
Deyanna Douglas averaged nearly 20 points across the two games, scoring 15 points in just 11 minutes against MSU Denver and posting a career-high 24 points versus SBU.
Jazmin Adams recorded her first double-double in only her second collegiate game, tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds against MSU Denver.
Annaston Brown continues to be a spark off the bench, leading the team with 14.2 points per game and reaching double figures in all five contests.
About Henderson State
Henderson State opened its season with two wins and most recently played on Nov. 19, hosting Mississippi College. The Reddies are averaging 84 points per game, led by junior guard Natalie Cardenas, who is scoring 24 per outing. In the preseason poll, HSU was picked ninth in the Great American Conference and returns six players from last year's roster.
The Series: This will mark the third straight season the two programs meet, with the all-time series tied at 2–2. Northeastern State is still searching for its first win in Arkadelphia; the lone road meeting went to the Reddies in 2023.
