TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — A first-half goal was the difference Thursday night as Northeastern State fell 1-0 to Rogers State in GAC/MIAA play at DeLoache Field.
Rogers State's Louis Bassett scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Ashton Medina, and that early strike stood as the game-winner. Despite a late push from the RiverHawks (8-7-2, 5-6 GAC/MIAA), NSU couldn't find an equalizer, managing just two shots on goal across five total attempts.
Goalkeeper
Cameron McColloch made three saves to keep the RiverHawks within striking distance, while Rogers State's Jaxon Kendall earned the clean sheet with two saves. NSU outpaced the Hillcats in corner kicks 5-3 but couldn't convert its chances in the attacking third.
The RiverHawks will look to regroup and finish strong when they close out the regular season Saturday at 6 p.m. against Newman for Senior Night at DeLoache Field.
