Foketi Named AFCA All-America

WACO, Texas -- The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Wednesday released its 2025 AFCA Division II Coaches All-America Teams, a prestigious list that includes Mo Foketi as a second-team selection as punter.

The sophomore is the first special teams All-American selection for the program since 2009, and the first AFCA national honor since 2010.

Foketi was among the best in the nation, averaging 45.26 yards per punt with 13 kicks that were over 50 yards in distance.   He had ten kicks that landed inside the 20-yard line and assisted the offense three times with a pass and two rushes.

The RiverHawks posted nine wins during the 2025 season and won their first postseason game since 1999.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.

The AFCA's Division II All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts before a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman, on which the teams are chosen.
