TAHLEQUAH – Two members of the Northeastern State football team earned postseason recognition as the D2CCA All-America Team was announced Wednesday. Cornerback
Marvelous Owens received First Team honors, while tight end
Cam Woods was named to the Second Team.
Woods secured his third career All-America honor, the most by any student-athlete in NSU's NCAA era. The senior finished the 2025 season with 835 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 17 yards per catch. He recorded two 100-yard performances, highlighted by a 200-yard, three-touchdown explosion against West Florida.
Owens emerged as one of the nation's top defenders, totaling seven interceptions and 11 pass breakups. He recorded an interception in four consecutive midseason games and posted a season-high four pass breakups against McKendree.
As the nation's only NCAA Division II Independent, the RiverHawks were ineligible for traditional conference honors and were evaluated solely on on-field performance. The D2CCA All-America selections are voted on by Division II communications offices nationwide.
The RiverHawks concluded the season with a 9–3 overall record and captured their first postseason victory since 1999.
