This weekend will mark the first meetings in program history with UC Colorado Springs. The Mountain Lions (3-1) compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and are in their ninth season fielding a team. UCCS entered the campaign off a 16-win effort in 2024, their lowest total in a full season over program history. Tying for sixth across a nine-team league in the RMAC Preseason Poll, the Mountain Lions opened the season by earning a pair of wins against Wayne State (Neb.) before splitting with Mary (N.D.). Caleb Stubbings is back after setting the program record in career home runs (currently at 37) in 2024 and has recorded three RBI and five base hits to begin the year. The pitching staff has allowed just nine earned runs across their first four games. Ryder Mancuso paces the group with nine strikeouts.
Northeastern State opens MIAA play next week by traveling to Wichita, Kan. to face Newman in a series from Feb. 21-23.
